What we do withyour details
A short, plain-English account of the only personal information this website asks for, what happens to it, and how to get it deleted.
The short version
One form, three fields, no tracking.
The enquiry form on the contact page asks for your name and phone number, and an email address if you'd rather we replied that way. We use it to answer your enquiry and nothing else. This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies at all. If you want your details deleted, call us and they're gone.
What the enquiry form collects
The bookings and enquiries form has five fields. Your name and phone number are required, because they're what we need to call you back. Your email address is optional. The rest is the type of enquiry you pick from the dropdown, and whatever you write in the message box, which usually means a date, a number of people and any detail about the order.
We use all of it for one thing: replying to you and arranging what you asked about, whether that's a large table, a birthday, a catering order or Iftar boxes. We don't add you to a mailing list off the back of an enquiry.
Worth being straight about the current state of the site: the form is a demonstration and isn't connected to an inbox yet, so at the moment nothing you type is sent or stored anywhere. When it is connected, it will work as described above. For anything you need answering today, please phone.
Who else sees it
Nobody, beyond the people at Cha Cha Chai who deal with bookings. We don't sell your details, we don't rent them, and we don't pass them to advertisers or data brokers. There's no profiling and no automated decision-making happening here.
We keep an enquiry only as long as it takes to deal with it and, where it's a booking, for a short while afterwards in case there's a follow-up. After that there's no reason to hold it.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no heatmap tool and no session recorder. That isn't a policy position so much as a description: none of it is installed, which is why you'll never see a cookie banner on this site.
The fonts are served from this site rather than from a font network, so simply loading a page doesn't hand your IP address to a third party. The web host keeps standard server logs, as every web host does, to serve the site and keep it up.
The map, and other links out
The contact page embeds a Google Map so you can see where we are. That map is loaded directly from Google, and when it loads Google can see that your browser requested it and may set its own cookies. We have no control over and no access to that. It's covered by Google's privacy policy, not this one. If you'd rather not load it, the address is written out in full next to the map.
The same goes for the buttons that take you to Deliveroo, Just Eat, Uber Eats and Instagram. Once you follow one of those links you're on their site, under their terms.
Getting your details deleted
Call 01923 918456 and ask. You can ask us to delete what we hold, tell you what we hold, correct something that's wrong, or stop using it. Say which of those you want and give us enough detail to find the enquiry, and we'll deal with it.
The phone is the route for all of this. We'd rather point you at a number that's answered than at an inbox that isn't.
Your rights under UK GDPR
UK data protection law gives you the right to see the personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it's used, and to receive a copy of it. Those rights apply to anything you send us through this site.
If you've asked us something and you're not happy with how we handled it, you can raise it with the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. You don't need to go through us first.
Please read this before relying on it
This page is a starting template written to match how the website currently works. It hasn't been reviewed by a solicitor or a data protection adviser. Before the business relies on it commercially, someone should check it against what actually happens off the website too, such as the booking diary, the till system, CCTV, staff records and the delivery platforms, and add anything this page doesn't cover. It should also be revisited whenever the site changes, particularly if the enquiry form is connected to an inbox or any analytics is ever added.
